We like to think of ourselves as the HR department for our small business clients. Unlike many of the larger HR consulting, payroll and benefits administration firms who are focusing on companies of larger size (1,000 + employees), Total HR focuses on solutions for the smaller business owner - many of our clients are 100 employees or less. We recognize that owners of small businesses have many of the same HR needs and challenges that larger companies do, yet don't have huge budgets for addressing these needs. Just like larger corporations, small businesses need to ensure that their employees are paid correctly and on time, payroll taxes are filed properly, and that they have a solid health benefit plan in place to keep their good employees satisfied and productive. They also need to have sound personnel policies and practices, comply with multiple labor laws, take the right steps when hiring, disciplining and terminating employees and ensure that workplace injuries are kept to a minimum by maintaining a safe job site.
